Irene.jpg

Irene Tollinger,
Co-founder - Product, Design, Engineering

Irene is a technologist who loves to untangle thorny problems. She worked at NASA designing and building mission software for scientists and engineers from the International Space Station to the Mars Rovers program. She established the HCI capability for the Agency and her work transformed assumptions about how software should be developed. Since leaving NASA, Irene has scaled startups across multiple domains including healthcare. She co-founded Acre because dramatic social shifts mean that the homeownership mode of our parents and grandparents aren’t working anymore and there's an incredible opportunity to re-design the home ownership experience. Irene is a graduate of Vassar and has a masters in Human-Computer Interaction from Carnegie Mellon.

Pete Crawford,
Co-founder - Operations

Pete likes to build things that work.  His professional endeavors have included leading a crisis response unit in the Army’s Special Forces Regiment, helping transportation and logistics clients operate more efficiently and profitably, and standing up new ventures in the sustainable energy space.  He co-founded Acre because he believes that everyone should have a place to call home, no matter what stage of life they’re in.  Pete is a graduate of West Point and the University of London where he was a Marshall Scholar.  He is a proud husband and father and is desperately trying to keep bees.
